Try it first: looking as your customer, and test mode
Everything you can rehearse without a customer noticing — and which test mode sits where.
Nothing here has to be right the first time. Everywhere something leaves the building — an email, a payment, an invoice — there is a test mode, and it is on by default.
1. See your software the way your customer does
Open your software in your portal at app.mark2form.com and go to the Use it tab. See it the way your customer does runs your own configurator, with your settings, without it being on your site yet. During your trial that button is called Open the software. Useful for checking that your prices add up and your colours look right before you put the code on your site.
Look at both products: Neon Logo and Neon Text each have their own settings (part of them you can apply to both), and the opening screen differs.
What you do here counts: an order you place here really does land under Orders & quotes. Walk the whole route once, then set your own test order to Cancelled.
2. Does it work on your site?
Once the code is on your site, the same tab shows a light per key: Working, Check, Not working or Not connected yet. The Test button next to it checks four things: your domain, whether the software loaded, whether it received its settings, and whether an order has ever come through.
3. Test mode for emails
Status emails to your customer have their own test mode, and it is on by default. While it is on, every status email goes to you instead of your customer, with a yellow bar above it and the address it would have gone to live.
So you can move statuses along and see how the email looks — without anything ever reaching a customer. You turn test mode off yourself, on the Settings tab in the Emails section; see Status emails.
4. Test mode for payments
Mollie gives you two keys: a test key and a live key. Connect the test key and your portal and the payment page both say plainly that this is test mode, and no money is taken.
See Online payments.
5. Draft invoices
The bookkeeping connection always creates a draft, never a sent invoice. You see it in your own package first, check it, and nothing goes out until you press send. See Connect your bookkeeping.
The order we recommend
- Fill in your prices and review your colours → check them with See it the way your customer does.
- Place one test order → see how it lands under Orders & quotes, then set it to Cancelled.
- With test mode on, move statuses along → read your own status emails.
- Connect Mollie with the test key → make a test payment.
- If your bookkeeping is connected: create one draft invoice and check it.
- Only then: live key in, code on your site (Connect on the Use it tab), Test, and test mode of your status emails off.
During the trial
If you start with a trial, you test everything above in your portal, as one user. You do not put the configurator live on your own website yet then, and you cannot download production files yet: both come with a subscription.
The trial has an end. If you do not take a subscription before then, the trial stops and the configurator is switched off. How long the trial lasts and what comes with it is on How the trial works.
