Order process: what the order button does

Quote request, shopping cart or direct download — the three ways an order reaches you.

You will find this in your portal at app.mark2form.com: open your software under My software, go to the Settings tab and open the Payments section; you save with Save prices and order button. The field names are in Dutch, also in the English portal; below you will find each one as the portal shows it. The field is called Wat doet de bestel-knop? (what does the order button do?), and it is the most important choice in your whole setup: what happens when your visitor is finished and presses the button?

May your visitor order at all? That is in the What your visitor may do section on the same tab, under Your visitor can: Nothing — the designer is off, Only look — design, but not order or Design and order. That is also where you choose whether they see the price.

The three options

1. Send a quote request by email (Stuur offerte-aanvraag per mail)

The classic route. Your visitor leaves their details, you get the request with the design and the price by email at the address under Algemeen contact-email (general contact email), and you take it from there. It does not appear under Orders & quotes in your portal. No payment in the flow.

Choose this if you want to look at every job before you accept it — with custom work that is usually the sensible option.

2. Add to the cart on my webshop (Toevoegen aan winkelwagen op mijn webshop)

The design and the price go to your own webshop, and your customer checks out there the way they check out any other product. You keep your existing checkout, shipping rules and discounts.

Choose this if you already have a working webshop. You do need someone to build the connection on your webshop side: there are two technical fields, Webhook-URL (the web address we send the order to) and Webhook secret (HMAC) (the secret code you use to verify the message really came from us). Ask us to look along at support@mark2form.com.

3. Download files directly (Direct bestanden downloaden)

No order, no customer flow: you use the configurator yourself as a workshop tool and collect the production files straight away.

Choose this if you mainly use the software internally, for example to knock out a quote and a DXF while a customer is on the phone.

Text on the button (Tekst op de knop)

What the order button says. “Request a quote” fits option 1, “Add to cart” fits option 2. Use the words your customer expects — this is the last line they read before they click, and there is no better place to be unclear.

Thank-you message after ordering (Bedank-bericht na bestellen)

What your customer sees once they have ordered. Say what happens next: “Thanks — we’ll get in touch with you soon” tells them more than “Thanks for your request”.

If you name a deadline, such as “within two working days”, pick one you always meet. That is a promise from you to your customer.

From quote to online payment

Feel free to start with option 1. If you later want customers to be able to pay straight away without building a webshop, connect your own Mollie account. Your customer then pays with Pay now on their own status page — your order process does not have to change for it.
