Order extras
Dimmer, mounting kit, spare power supply — options your customer can tick. Off by default.
Small products you sell alongside, as tick boxes in the order flow. Off by default.
You cannot set this yourself in the portal at the moment. Get in touch with us if you want it set differently.
What is set per extra
| Field | Explanation |
|---|---|
| ID | A short unique code, for example dimmer. It does not change later. |
| Name | What your customer reads: “Dimmer + remote control” |
| Price | A fixed amount, not dependent on the size of the sign |
| On by default | Is the box already ticked when your customer arrives? |
Limits
- At most 8 extras.
- A price between € 0.00 and € 500.00 each.
“On by default” — use it wisely
A box that is already ticked demonstrably sells more. It is also the quickest way to make a customer feel something was pushed on them, especially if they only notice it on the invoice.
The rule of thumb we use: only on by default if most customers need the product anyway and things do not work properly without it. A mounting kit for a sign that goes on the wall: fine. A dimmer: better not.
Either way: the box is always visible and can be unticked — it is never hidden in the base price.
What works well as an extra?
- Dimmer with remote control — the classic
- Mounting kit — spacers, plugs, screws
- Extra-long power cable — for anyone without a socket next to the wall
- Shipping insurance or extra sturdy packaging
- Spare power supply
Keep it to things you have in stock and can simply put in the box. An extra that is itself custom work does not belong in this list but in a conversation.
Where it ends up on the order
Every ticked extra is a separate line on the order, on the quote and on the draft invoice — never hidden in the base price. So you see straight away what to add to the box, and your customer sees where their money goes.
The extras are added to the base price first, before any lead-time surcharge and before a discount code.
