Design help: a safety net for tricky logos

Is your visitor stuck on their logo? Then they ask you for help instead of clicking away. On by default.

Not every logo converts neatly into glass tubes. A scanned business-card JPG, an image with a drop shadow, a signature with hairline strokes — sometimes the result is mediocre. Without a safety net, that visitor clicks away. With one, they ask you for help, and you have a job.

This safety net belongs to Neon Logo: that is where a file is traced, and where it can therefore disappoint.

On by default. Without a text of your own, your visitor sees a card saying “Unsure about your logo?” and “Ask for design help; we’ll get in touch with you.” That text promises no deadline and nothing for free. If you do want to promise that, the card can get a title of its own (up to 120 characters) and a text of its own (up to 400 characters).

You cannot set this yourself in the portal at the moment. Get in touch with us if you want it set differently.

How it works

Your visitor chooses help and leaves their email address, with a note on what could be better if they like. Their design and details arrive as a request of the kind Design help under Orders & quotes. You get an email about it. You make a good version by hand and get in touch with your visitor.

When does the offer appear?

The configurator gives every conversion a quality score between 0 and 1.

  • Between 0.5 and 0.7: orderable, but it could be better. Here the configurator offers your visitor help by itself. The upper bound, 0.7 by default, is the threshold of this setting.
  • Below 0.5: your visitor cannot order, and the configurator offers them to have a designer take a look.
  • Your visitor can also ask for it themselves, even when the software thought the result was fine.

Naming a deadline

The default text names no deadline. If you name one yourself, pick one you can meet on a Friday afternoon too: 48 hours you always meet is worth more than 24 hours you miss half the time.

The setting does have a deadline: 24 hours by default, adjustable between 1 and 168 hours (a week). Your visitor only sees that number if you put it in your button text yourself.

A button text of its own

Up to 160 characters. With {{slaHours}} the number of hours goes into the sentence, so it does not have to change when the deadline changes later. That only works in the button text, not in the title or the text of the card:

Not happy? We will turn it into a clean design by hand within {{slaHours}} hours.

What it brings you

This is one of the few features that raises your conversion and your margin at the same time. The visitor who would have clicked away becomes a conversation, and a customer who has seen you rescue their logo is rarely price-sensitive any more.

The price you pay is your time: easily half an hour of handwork per request. If you are too busy for a while, the safety net can be switched off.

Next to the AI design advice

The AI design advice catches the simple cases straight away, without you being involved. This safety net is for whoever is still stuck after that. They do not get in each other’s way: the advice saves you requests, the safety net catches the rest.
